Collaborative R&D Projects

In Europe, a rich tradition exists for collaborative research and development, R&D, projects between private industries, research organizations and academia. Various programs under the European Union, currently FP71, but also in the Nordic countries and at national level have nurtured many advances in electronics and computer science.

Objectives of e.g. FP 7 are to strengthen the scientific and technological base of European industry; and to encourage its international competitiveness, while promoting research that supports EU policies. Research projects under this FP are carried out by consortia which include participants from different European (and other) countries. The heart of the policies is to coordinate national and European teams, setting up research networks, and increasing the mobility of individual researchers. In addition, bringing together research teams from different countries is a way of countering the fragmented nature of the European research landscape.

Such European programs have encouraged many organizations in Europe to join projects under the R&D initiatives and prosper from the collaborative progress.

Chamaj Consult - having strong experience in such R&D programs - offers to partner in projects, assist in setting up new consortia, serve e.g. as project manager or dissemination partner for results, etc. Our staff has many years of experience in collaborative R&D initiatives at European, Nordic and national level and can help bring the cooperation to a successful completion, between the partners, vis-à-vis the EU, and not least through successful migration of the project results to commercial products and solutions.

Note 1: FP7 is 7th Framework Program for Research and Technological Development under the EU. It runs from 2007until 2013. The program has a total budget of over € 50 billion. FP7 is a key tool to respond to Europe's needs in terms of jobs and competitiveness, and to maintain leadership in the global knowledge economy.
